Animal Welfare Victoria publishes guidelines for rehoming ex-lab animals

Animal Welfare Victoria has issued guidelines for licence holders, researchers, teachers and Animal Ethics Committees to consider when rehoming animals after the conclusion of a research or teaching project.

This publication has come about largely due to the efforts of Beagle Freedom Australia and advice issued by them. It has the potential of saving the lives of many animals who would otherwise be “disposed of” at their conclusion of their time in a laboratory.
